How to evaluate a sober home (checklist)

- Staffing. Is there a live-in house manager? What's the relapse-response protocol?
- Structure. Do they require IOP/outpatient attendance, help with work search, chores?
- Length limits. Minimum stay? Maximum stay? What happens if you relapse — referral or eviction?
- Red flags. Homes that take "insurance billing" for rent, homes tied to a specific treatment center's kickback arrangement, or homes with no written rules.
